FACT: Less than 60% of the American workforce ever receives a “thank you” at work.FACT: People often stay at jobs that pay less (rather than take more lucrative positions) if they feel valued and validated for what they are doing.

Keeping Employees & Keeping Them Happy! is a retention training seminar combining communication techniques, emotional intelligence, listening skills, behavioral assessment information, group exercises and role play. It focuses on awareness, empathetic conversations, proactive feedback and much more.

Of course employees leave for a myriad of reasons, but when we aren’t paying attention we tend to lose employees. One global company that I currently work on with on retention, estimated they lost over $300 million in one year due to employee turnover.

Replacing, interviewing, training and retraining are expensive, time consuming and energy-depleting tasks.

Obviously retaining employees is a much smarter choice. My retention training is an excellent combination of communication techniques, emotional intelligence, listening skills, behavioral assessment information, group exercises and role play. We focus on:

  • Awareness through heightened communication disciplines including empathetic conversations, dialogues to disclose and active and reflective listening.
     

  • Informed profiles in behavioral assessment skills, knowing how to give feedback, mentor, motivate and manage.
     

  • Retention conversations--given either at the time of the performance review or independently—creating trust within a safe environment to gain knowledge and build rapport. This includes insight into how to turn around unhappy or disgruntled employees as well as those preparing to resign. And information on how to empower employees who considered going elsewhere but can be motivated into excellent workers.
